The Inevitable and Dreaded Utah Snow...

The inevitable and dreaded Utah snow has finally arrived. I had been hoping I would not have to meet her wrath face-to-face but unfortunately the hour of conflict has come in the form of a torrential blizzard.

Supposedly the awful snow will continue for the duration of this week! The snow continues to fall even as I type this woeful entry.

I used to love the snow before I came to Utah for school. After day, after day, after day of walking in the horrid frozen moisture, I have come to the conclusion that I loathe it.

Wanna know the worst part?? I'm guessing by the time we get to Kansas in two weeks, it too will be covered in the fluffy, cold, white stuff. Even worse: El Paso, TX (our supposed warm winter getaway this year) has had snow on the ground for the past week as well!!

On the bright side, the snow does make for pretty pictures and a good excuse to curl up on the couch next to my HANDSOME hubby with the Christmas lights on and a mug of apple cider or hot cocoa... mmmMMMmmm...

Savior of the World December 2 2009

On Wednesday, Daniel & I went with Lisa & Cole Bell to see "Savior of the World" at the Conference Center. Who knew there was a smaller theater housed in the humongous Conference Center?! We didn't, that's for sure. The musical was amazing and wonderfully spiritual. It covered the events prior to and leading up to the birth of Christ, followed by a second act covering the events of the resurrection. It was a lot of fun!

Seattle Trip, Continued

Daniel and I flew out to Seattle on October 8th for Amy & Steve's beautiful Autumn wedding! 

While we were out there, Dan's family took us all to Ivar's--a seafood restaraunt right on the beach.

On the pier, there were these seagulls who would play "fetch" for scraps of food. They sat on the railing and if you tossed food their way, they would jump or dive to catch it in their beaks! They were not scared of people one bit! These crazy seagulls provided several minutes of entertainment.

We walked along Pike Street, toured the market, and went to the shore. 

Later, we went to Snoqualmie Falls and had some fun at the lookout. Unfortunately, the trail that would have taken us closer to the falls was closed.

The trip was a great break from our classes and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of the wedding to share... so you'll just have to take our word for it!

Seattle was gorgeous and Amy & Steve's wedding was absolutely beautiful! More pictures to come!

I'M ENGAGED!!!

Well, I have already posted pictures on facebook but I figured there was no harm in putting them up here too! I believe everyone who visits my blog has a facebook as well, so sorry for the repetition!
The jeweler was great! We got the ring at Sierra West. Dan actually went up there himself and talked to them after we found out that Shane Co. was in a bit of financial turmoil. They didn't have a band or setting similar to what I wanted, so they worked with Dan to come up with a 21 stone anniversary band which they could take the center stone out of, attach the crown, and order an identical band to make it a set.


Dan brought me in for a look around and of all the different settings, I liked what he and the manager of Sierra West had picked out the best ... So that's what we got!!

Dan proposed to me outside of the Jordan River Temple on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 (my Grandpa Young's birthday)!


At first, I thought he was trying to trick me! We were headed to our friend's apartment in Taylorsville, UT and Dan got off the freeway and started driving by the Jordan River Temple. I thought to myself, "I don't remember Brandon and Brooke living so close to the temple!"

Then, realizing I hadn't ever actually seen that temple before, I began leaning side to side so I could see it through the car window. I noticed the unique spire and Dan asked if I wanted to stop and walk around real quick.

"I get it," I thought, "He's going to fake me out every night this week by taking me to a different temple in UT each night!!"

Thinking I was totally on to him, I got out of the car and started walking around the outside of the temple. Dan started to "cut across the grass" (as I thought) and grabbed my hand from behind.

I turned to find him down on one knee with a box in his hand! =)


Guess he wasn't trying to trick me after all!!

Jeff's Birthday

Jeff turned the big 22 and we celebrated with a cake. The candle package lied to us, though. It was quite upsetting as it led us to believe dearest homie (Nicole) couldn't count...

Well, I may have actually somewhat figured out this whole blogging thing! Now I just need to inform people that my blog even exists! I feel like I'm writing a dialogue for myself, between myself!

...Oh wait... I am.

How to do this blogging thing...

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have no idea how to work these silly blogs. From what I can tell, it can't be too hard because not only does my mother have one, but my aunts, uncles, and even my grandfather are participants in the blogosphere. Just moments ago, I found out how to "follow" people's blogs. Everyone else's is far prettier than mine... How the heck do ya'll do it?! Any advice would be great. Unfortunately, I'm not sure anyone knows my blog even exists. This may be a plea for help lost in the depths of the World Wide Web. Alas.
